Plants are incubated in a soultion of 0.01% of the insecticide Buprafezin for one hour (Please do not just drop these in a shrimp tank or with any other crustacean. To use these within a tank please wash in water with baking soda under light. These are treated to remove the insecticide but there are cases where this has not been fully removed causing casualty’s in crustacean.

Elodea Densa (Egeria Densa) : Widespread Preferred Ph : 5-10 Temp range : 5-26C Size : 20-100cm Tank location : background Lighting : 40-75w/100litres Aquarium suitability : A very important aquarium plant, thrives quickly, using up suspended tank nutrients and hence cutting out a lot of algal growth. Excellent oxygenater, and very easy plant to grow. Will grow in almost any conditions but does better with high lighting conditions

Amazon Sword : The Amazon Sword Plant, Echinodorus amazonicus, is a Rosette plant that is very popular with aquarium hobbyists. They are capable of reaching approximately 20 inches in height under proper water conditions. The Amazon Sword Plant has short rhizomes, numerous lance shaped leaves that are pale to dark green with sharply pointed tips, and fairly short stems. It is an amphibious plant that will grow either partially or fully submersed. For the most beautiful Amazon Sword Plants, a loose substrate and an iron-rich fertilizer must be used. The Amazon Sword Plant requires at least 2 watts per gallon of full spectrum lighting (5000-7000K). The aquarium temperature should be from 72°-82°F, with an alkalinity of 3 to 8 dKH and a pH of 6.5-7.5. Propagation is by adventitious plants on the covered peduncles.Best cultivated in large aquariums, Amazon Sword Plants make a great focal point if used singly. When used in groups, they create an interesting background when grown with other aquarium plants.

Java Fern : Java fern is one of the most popular plants in the aquarium hobby, due to its aesthetic appeal and ease of care. Several cultivars of Java fern exist. These include the “narrow leaf” Java fern, the “needle leaf” Java fern, the “Windelov” Java fern, the “trident” Java Fern, the “lance leaf” Java fern, and others. Cultivation in the aquarium is not problematic as long as the rhizome is tied to rock or driftwood and not planted directly into the substrate. Propagation can be done by attaching small adventitious plants, formed on the older leaves, to a rock or driftwood. This is most often done with thin wire, cotton thread, a zip tie, a rubber band or fishing line. This plant does particularly well with fish that are normally detrimental to plants, on account of its relatively bitter taste. Height: 20–35 cm; width: 5–15 cm; light: low-high; temperature: 18–30 °C; pH tolerance: 6–8; kH: 2–15. Can also withstand slightly brackish conditions.

Cabomba caroliniana : The Cabomba, also known as the Carolina Fanwort, has feathery green leaves, which are divided into narrow segments. It is a densely growing plant that makes for a wonderfull, natural looking background in a planted aquarium.Cabomba does best when grown in neutral water under moderate lighting. Provide at least 2 watts per gallon of full spectrum (5000-7000K) lighting. Water temperature between 72°-82°F, an alkalinity of 3-8 dKH and a pH of 6.5-7.5 is ideal for proper growth. These plants do not tolerate frequent trimming and transplanting. Leaves dropping from the plant are usually a sign of poor water conditions or CO2 deficiency.Propagate the Cabomba by trimming branches from the main plant, and relocating them in another part of the aquarium. It should be placed in the back or sides of your aquarium in groups for the best appearance. You can expect to receive 5 to 7 perCabomba per bunch.

Cabomba Piauhyensis : Cabomba Furcata (C.Piauhyensis) Red Cabomba Home : South America Preferred Ph : 5.5-7 Temp range : 22-32C Size Up to : 80cm Tank location : background Tank type : Tropical Lighting : 50-75w/100litres Aquarium suitability : Not the easiest of plants for the home aquarium, but the extra effort of a good nutrient substrate, co2 infusion and bright light will reward the aquarist with a beautiful red contrast to the usual green emphasis of most tanks.
